Service

Service is an integral part of the way we practice our faith at St. Peter’s.

Members of St. Peter’s are active both within our church community as well as in the wider community.

There are many ways to serve within our walls at St. Peter’s. Many newcomers find that joining one of our hospitality teams to prepare food for Coffee Hour after church offers a fun, low threshold way to enter into the serving community and meet new people. Others serve as acolytes or readers in the liturgy, on the Altar Guild, the Vestry (parish council), Property Team or another ministry team.

There are also many opportunities for serving together outside of church walls, such volunteering at the Food Bank at St. Mary’s, or being part of our partnership with nearby Bailey Gatzert Elementary School.

Many members of St. Peter’s are already committed to serving our city and the world through professions such as social workers, health workers, community organizers, teachers, and immigration attorneys. For them, what St. Peter’s also offers is a place of Sabbath rest and renewal, and a community in which to make meaning of their work in light of their faith.
